Welcome to MyGaragePilot

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of MyGaragePilot's websites, applications, and related services.

In these Terms, “MyGaragePilot,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to MyGaragePilot. “Services” refers to the MyGaragePilot website, application, and related features.

By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for:

  • Protecting account credentials
  • Activity performed through your account

  • Promptly reporting unauthorized access
  • Ensuring invited organization members receive appropriate permissions

You may not:

  • Share credentials in a way that compromises account security
  • Impersonate another person
  • Create an account using information you are not authorized to use
  • Use automated methods to create abusive or fraudulent accounts

We may require email verification or additional verification for sensitive actions.

3. The Services

MyGaragePilot may provide tools for:

  • Vehicle records
  • Maintenance planning
  • Fuel tracking
  • Document storage
  • Expense tracking
  • Recall information
  • Notifications
  • Vehicle sharing
  • Ownership transfer

Features may vary by plan, account type, vehicle, region, integration, or availability.

We may add, change, limit, or discontinue features. When a change materially affects a paid service, we will provide notice when reasonably practical.

4. Your records and content

You retain ownership of information and content you submit to MyGaragePilot.

You grant us a limited license to host, store, copy, process, display, and transmit that content as necessary to:

  • Provide the Services
  • Perform requested processing
  • Generate previews, reports, and notifications
  • Maintain backups
  • Prevent abuse
  • Improve reliability
  • Comply with law

This license lasts only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services and fulfill the purposes described in the Privacy Policy.

You represent that:

  • You have the right to submit the content
  • The content does not violate another person's rights
  • Sharing the content through MyGaragePilot is lawful
  • You have permission to upload documents containing another person's information

5. Vehicle records are user-managed information

You are responsible for reviewing and maintaining the accuracy of your vehicle records.

MyGaragePilot may populate or suggest information using:

  • VIN decoding
  • Public databases
  • Manufacturer information
  • Uploaded documents
  • Images
  • Automated extraction
  • Artificial intelligence
  • User-entered data

Such information may be incomplete, delayed, or incorrect.

Always verify important information against:

  • The vehicle
  • The owner's manual
  • Official manufacturer information
  • Government recall sources
  • Service records
  • A qualified automotive professional

6. Acceptable use

You may not use MyGaragePilot to:

  • Violate a law or regulation
  • Infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights
  • Upload malware or harmful code
  • Attempt unauthorized access
  • Bypass security or usage limits
  • Interfere with service operation

  • Upload unlawful, deceptive, or fraudulent content
  • Resell or commercially exploit the Services unless permitted by your plan or a separate agreement

We may investigate suspected misuse and restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect the Services or other users.

See also our Acceptable Use Policy for additional detail.

7. Organizations, sharing, and permissions

Organizations and shared-vehicle features may allow users to access records created by others.

Organization owners and administrators are responsible for:

  • Inviting appropriate users
  • Assigning appropriate roles
  • Reviewing permissions
  • Removing access when it is no longer needed
  • Ensuring organizational use complies with applicable policies and laws

A user with access may be able to view, change, export, or download records depending on the assigned role.

MyGaragePilot is not responsible for access intentionally granted by an authorized account administrator.

8. Subscriptions and payment

Some features may require a paid subscription.

Before purchase, we will display applicable pricing and billing frequency.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Subscriptions renew automatically
  • Charges occur at the beginning of each billing period
  • You authorize the payment provider to charge the selected payment method
  • Taxes may be added where required
  • Plan changes may affect available features or limits

You may cancel through the available account controls or by contacting [email protected].

Cancellation stops future renewal but ordinarily does not create a refund for a billing period already started, except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise.

Trial length, refund, and proration rules vary by plan and are configured per license tier — confirm the specific current rules shown at signup match this section before publishing.

9. Free trials and promotional access

Trials, promotional plans, discounts, or complimentary access may be subject to additional conditions.

We may:

  • Limit eligibility
  • Change or end a promotion
  • Require a payment method
  • Convert a trial to a paid subscription after notice
  • Restrict repeated trial use

The terms displayed when you enroll control if they conflict with this general section.

10. Third-party services

MyGaragePilot may depend on third-party providers for:

  • Hosting
  • Payments
  • Email
  • Authentication
  • Vehicle data
  • Recall data
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Analytics
  • Other integrations

Third-party services may be unavailable, changed, or discontinued outside our control.

Your use of an independently provided third-party service may also be governed by that provider's terms.

11. Availability and changes

We work to keep MyGaragePilot available and reliable, but uninterrupted service is not guaranteed.

The Services may be unavailable because of:

  • Maintenance
  • Updates
  • Provider failures
  • Internet or network problems
  • Security incidents
  • Events outside reasonable control

We may impose reasonable limits to protect security, stability, capacity, or fair use.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using MyGaragePilot at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary because of:

  • Nonpayment
  • Fraud
  • Security risk
  • Illegal activity
  • Material violation of these Terms
  • Harm to other users or the Services
  • Repeated misuse
  • Legal requirements

When practical, we may provide notice and an opportunity to correct the issue.

Serious security, fraud, or legal risks may require immediate action.

13. Account deletion and data export

Available account controls may allow you to export or delete certain information.

Before deleting an account:

  • Export records you want to retain
  • Transfer vehicle or organization ownership where appropriate
  • Review shared records
  • Cancel active subscriptions

Some information may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.

Deletion may be irreversible after applicable recovery or backup periods expire.

14. Intellectual property

MyGaragePilot and its software, design, branding, documentation, and original content are owned by MyGaragePilot or its licensors.

These Terms grant you a limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable right to use the Services for their intended purpose.

They do not grant ownership of MyGaragePilot software or intellectual property.

Feedback may be used to improve the Services without restriction or compensation, provided we do not publicly identify you without permission.

15. Disclaimers

The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law.

MyGaragePilot does not guarantee that:

  • Every vehicle specification is correct
  • Every recall will be identified
  • Every maintenance interval applies to your vehicle
  • Automated extraction will be accurate
  • A health score reflects the vehicle's actual mechanical condition
  • Service will always be available or error-free
  • Stored records will satisfy insurance, warranty, tax, legal, or regulatory requirements

The separate Disclaimer is incorporated into these Terms.

16. Limitation of liability

This section should be reviewed by a qualified attorney before publishing.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MyGaragePilot will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from or related to the Services.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, total liability for claims relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid to MyGaragePilot during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply.

17. Indemnification

This section should be reviewed by a qualified attorney before publishing.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MyGaragePilot and its owners, employees, contractors, and agents from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from:

  • Your unlawful use of the Services
  • Content you submit
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of another person's rights
  • Your administration of an organization or shared account

18. Governing law and disputes

Governing-law state, dispute venue, arbitration, and class-action terms must be completed with counsel before publishing.

Before filing a formal claim, you and MyGaragePilot agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by sending written notice using the contact form or [email protected].

The notice should describe the dispute and the requested resolution.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Services or legal requirements change.

When changes are material, we may provide notice through:

  • Email
  • The Services
  • An account notification
  • Another reasonable method

Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

20. General terms

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

You may not assign these Terms without our permission. We may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of the business.

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Disclaimer, and any applicable plan terms form the agreement between you and MyGaragePilot concerning the Services.
